You should have a little metal wire type thing in there that you can run through the helmet strap onto the seat / cowl hooks.

Thats a horrible way to explain it but I can post up a picture when I get back home

I'm guess you slide one end thru the D rings on te helmet and after that slid the end of it over the front latch hook on the left side of the bike? How much do those run on price bc I don't have one! Grr

you do the chin strap on the helmet and hook the helmet from that strap and both wire ends go though the SAME latch ( tab?) on the side.

you could probably make one with small cable wire

you dont have to use the wire thing i dont because it causes the helmet to hang very loosely. I just turn my d ring a quarter turn so its longways and place around the hook and put the seat on. it fits much tighter this way and the helmet is not flapping around

Yeah I've done this too.

Only time I put the helmets under the seat though is when the woman and I have gone somewhere and we don't feel like carrying them and I can see the bike. The idea of driving around with a helmet on the back - secure or not - just kinda bothers me.
