Default fuel pump

When i turn on the key i do not hear the fuel pump engage.

So it looks like my fuel pump has taken a crap on me. does anyone know where the location of the fuel pump is (I know i need the manuel but the nearest place i can get it is 30 miles away) and also the best place to get it from.

Also is there any kind of relay or sensor that could not make the fuel pump work.

and another thing when i pull the right fairing off the coolant is very low in the resivour is there any kind of sensor in there( I wouldnt imagine there would be)

The bike is a 2006 cbr 600rr with 1900 miles on it the bike has not been riddin in 2 years. or for that matter been started in about a year and a half. I know stupid me. I am such an idiot.

any help is greatly appreciated

To start things off, its not the reservoir and doesn't have a sensor, the reservoir is there to catch overflowing coolant from reaching the ground.

To get to the fuel pump, remove the left and right fairing, seat, and tank fairing, this will get you to the actual gas tank. Remove the front bolts (1 on each side) of the fuel tank and then it can pivot around the rear bolts and lift it up.

Underneath the tank you'll find the fuel pump attached to the tank, obviously. There will be two wire connectors, one is the fuel level sensor (the one that shows you how much fuel is left) and the other is the wire that carries the voltage to the fuel pump to allow it to run. The only other thing attached to the fuel pump/tank is the hose from the fuel pump that runs down to the injectors.

When trubble shooting the fuel pump, and turning the bike on and off, make sure you have that hose connected or you'll shoot fuel everywhere when you get it to actually work.

I had to trouble shoot this problem (fuel pump not priming) on my race bike (07 600RR) It ended up being the CMP sensor was frayed (which I doubt thats your problem because my bike had been down, hard) and the other problem was the killswitch.

Even though the killswitch was in the on position, thinking that wasn't the problem, it was. I took it apart and saw that switch wasn't touching the wire, so i just bent the metal arm on the inside so it would again touch the arm, and fuel pump primed.

The fuel pump is only activated by the ignition, so if any sensor goes out or something else (killswitch) that would cause the bike not to send voltage around its circuit will cause the fuel pump not to prime.

I took off all of my plastics last night, I am going to have them painted the same color as my red mazda, he also going to do alittle repair to the fairings that has some freight damage. I am getting really excited I got this bike for a birthday present from my wife. In november of 07 I have been in a lawsuit ever since.
