honda remodels every 2 years. rr's started in 03 so the 03-04 is the same 05-06 is the same, 07-08 is the same, and the next gen will be different. (cant wait)
as for f4i's, they are the end of an era of the "F" series, or bike series with "F"airings, and cbr engines. they changed every 2 also, 2001 started the f4i's and they went till 2002 as the same bike. these two years are the only years that are ungoverned and have split seats, after that they stopped being the spotlight "sport" bike and started being honda's secondary bike. 2003-2006 are the same and have bannana seats+more comfortable riding position

ok so heres my verdict: it all depends on what you want really.
~most comfortable is going to be f4i 2003+.
~most comfortable and most sporty is the 08(i know you said you cant have that so lets negate it).
~if you are looking between the 2 dif models of rr's, i think the 05/06 is more comfortablebut not much difference from the ~previous model.
~you cant go wront with a classic 01/02 f4i; powerful as **** and pretty comfty.

keep in mind tho that the rr's are completely different then the f's. the foot pegs are higher, and farther back and the handlebars are lower, but you can ride up so its all if you want to look cool riding or not.

Correction Skitz, 01-03's had split seats. 04+ had that schwinn derived banana seat.

 

really the 03 had them too? i have never seen an 03 with splits... and i have seen them with nanas... im confused.... so lost and confused
