hmm, i don't think age has anything to do with this at all... college "kid" - that's interesting too... Also, i believe the title of this thread was DUMB MISTAKE, so i believe the author was aware of the mistake and was advising others not to make the same one while asking for advice on how to fix everything. So... check the age issue and don't post if that's all you have to offer

what part is fiberglass in a cbr600rr? could have sworn everything was ABS plastic - they do make fiberglass repair kits (check a marine store or hardware store) if you want to just repair a minor area, but if we're talking serious melting and large amounts missing, then I'd replace the damaged part(s) (especially if wires are getting fried, because that's not too safe i'm sure)
