Sorry i'm a noob as well and always use the clutch to shift, but i don't seem to be understanding the "blip" technique? Do you depress the clutch all the way and then give it a little throttle then let go into gear or you would blip the throttle while pressing down on the shifter till it slips?

Put weight on the shifter in the direction you want to shift, then blip the throttle, the rest will happen on its own.

if you're putting weight on the shifter for it to shift while reving on the throttle, will it effect the engine or the clutch in the long run since you're forcing it to do the work without using the clutch since the clutch was DESIGNED to be used for manual cars or bikes?

If you are correctly clutchless shifting in cars or bikes it will not damage anything. It's harder to do it in cars but it can still be done. Wouldnt really recommend it unless you are stranded with a broken clutch. On bikes its much easier, almost fool proof for clutchless upshifting.

the big rig drivers do it too..

they only use the clutch for starting from a dead stop

called floating gears.
ive done it in my friends car with a short shifter, such a PITA haha
bikes are much easier

+1... Like most things, if done correctly, no damage will occur.

you can clutchless shift a car with out hurting anything, i clutchless upshhift in my mustang every time it gets driven i don't do it downshifting because it's a PITA, i agree that its easier on a bike how ever i use my clutch everytime for a down shift, and almost all the time for upshift
