I could very well be wrong, but getting re-work done at a honda dealership that they screwed up is not covered under the limited warranty. that warranty covers OEM parts, not labor.

personally, i take great pleasure and pride to be able to competently and completely perform all my own service. education is awesome.

Well what exactly do they do besides an oil change and chain check with the 1st service at 600 miles? The salesman told me its the most important service you can get for the new bike. I really wasn't paying attention because as always most things out of their mouth is complete BS to get your money. I intend on doing my own oil changes, I have less than 100 miles on my new bike. Until I got to this thread I was planning on getting the 1st change from Honda with the 1st service at about 600 miles. Now im wondering if I should do the change myself before 600 and just not even bother with the 1st service. I was thinking the same thing about peace of mind of letting them check out the bike out at 600. If they really only do a over priced oil change and nothing more. Then no f'in way am i going for that.

I can tell you plenty of stories about Honda techs (and others) doing some major screw ups on repair work... even simple things like oil changes and tire changes (which I do all my own, thanks).

Picked mine up, put on about 160-200KM dropped the oil, not filter just oil for now. Replaced with new Motul non-synthetic.. rode for another 550 km then too to dealership for firstservice. Why didn't i drop the filter.... big ride, no time before with the fairings and such being my first remov al. \Now just like my cars, Oil is cheap peice of mind, good oil, and regular oil changes early have always allowed me to drive my cars hard, and still have them run tight and true

Just got my 600mi. service on my '07CBR600RR. I am very happy with the service. I waited and watched. Over two hours of work completed. Changed oil/filter and went over the entire bike and showed me what to watch for and adjusted/torqued. That's why this motorcycle dealership is one of the best in the nation.
