Default Concerns about a bike I want to look at.

Hey guys currently have a 02 cbr 600 f4i, Found a 2007 600RR on craigslist for $4200. Seemed like a good price on it. I got concerns about it though because it was previously dropped on the right side. He says it runs like new and sounds good, 18k miles, Brand new rear tire, Brand new fairings, Right side motor casing is scratched (posting pics), Says he would drive it anywhere. I can sell mine anytime for about 3,000. Tons of people want it around here not sure why. But I can sell mine for 3k and buy that one for 4k probably so it'd cost me 1k. Basically. Is a f4i to newer 600rr worth an upgrade for 1k? And what should I take a close look at on the rr when I look at it. My f4i runs perfect I literally daily drive it and trust it everywhere, It has 17k miles. I don't want to get a 600rr and sell my f4i than have a bike I won't be able to trust and be worried about. Thanks for the help.

Not worth it imo. You have something perfectly good now, why mess with a good thing? The f4i is capable of more than what 99% of riders can throw at it.

If you get the rr insepcted and all comes back clean, and you can get the price dropped, I'd consider it. But you will feel awfully ill of you miss a portion of this riding season because your new bike is a heap.

That's the main reason i'm not really jumping at it right now, My f4i is the most trustworthy vehicle i've literally ever owned. Not even kidding. My cars constantly break I guess cause I keep going for more power but you get the point lol. I'd trust my f4i to drive to texas and back to arkansas without even thinking about breaking down. I just thought a newer model might be worth the extra money because it comes with steering damper factory and updated this and that. That's why I came here to ask. Couldn't decide to try to get it or just get some fork seals and a valve adjustment on the f4i and ride.

I sold my 01 F4i w/20k miles last fall for $3K and bought a 07 600RR with similar damage and replaced plastics only 9K miles though for $4300. Worth every penny to upgrade IMO.

The pictures of the bike you posted it doesn't look like it has a muffler and also looks to be aftermarket plastics.

Also as a price reference clean 07+ RR's go for $6K+ around here this time of year. I had just found the right guy and the right time last fall.

Yeah from what i've been reading it's definately worth the upgrade to a newer bike for the money. I'm going to pass this one. I'd rather get one with oem fairings. And preferably less miles than the bike I already got. Also straight pipes or really short exhausts are bad on the motor long term as i've been told. I'll just continue to ride the f4i. Most likely get a newer bike next year instead
