Just got an 07 600 RR on friday... My brake light worked then, and I was told today it wasn't working while riding. Upon inspection... they were right. It doesn't work for the front or rear brake. I'm perfectly capable of doing anything to this bike, however, before going through everything I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of where to check first or if this was a common problem?

 

Are you getting the running light only, or no light at all?

No light at all = blown fuse

Running light but no brake light Might be bad switches, or bad conection on the brake light.

The OEM brakelight has 3 wires: BlackGround

Black/white-Running light
Black/yellow-Brake light.

check the connections

 

Can still be a fuze with running but no brake, atleast on the 06;s

 

I have a running light, but no brake. I'll check the fuse tomorrow. Check the connection to the stupid ugly brake light assembly?


See, I'm putting in the CBR Heaven taillight as soon as it comes, so i figured I'd ask first.

 

I know this doesn't help you with your problem, but I have a question. What is a CBR heaven taillight and do you have a link?

 

chk the "tightness" in the brake line...for instance wen i removed my rear brake/foot peg and re-installed, i had the problem where the "BRAKE" light wus on constantly. There shud b a lil circular plate in which you can adjust it..that iiz if your fuses r perfectly fine??
