I started my bike warmed it up took it for about a 30 mile ride. Parked it in driveway for about 3hrs. Then when I went to put it in garage i put the key in turned it the dash lights briefly came on then went out. I turned the key again and only the mph needle moved. Then i put the charger on it for about 10min put the key in turned it and all the lights came on for about 2 sec. then flashed off then on and repeatedly til i turned off the key. I looked at the charger and the amps read 0.I hope its just a dead battery! any ideas what it could be, ignition? please help need to ride...

 

How old the battery? Do you have any mods on your bike?

 

not sure how old it is. It's an 05cbr I'm assuming its the original, i bought the bike used. I had just been riding it, so wouldn't it charge up when I was riding. It was only sitting for about 2-3hrs. before I went to start it up again.

 

It seems very hard to find service manual for 05 for some reason. You can download 04 or 06 one and look at the battery/charging system section and go down the check list? If you go to repair shop, I am sure they can check and see if the battery is charging good, or has current leakage. If the battery seems to be still good, then it's caused by something else, like alternator or regulator. I am not good at fixing stuff yet, so hopefully someone else can give you some input

 

sounds like battery my gf had same exact problem just get the new battery and you'll be good to go.
