These are good stories, talk about laugh... reminded me of a incident about 20 yrs ago, coming back from a 3,000k trip, i was on a Z900 and a mate on a z1000, both hadn't been riding that long and both on our first bikes (not trying to justify my stupidity) i was looking to see how far the next town was on the road sign, eyes back to the road and guess what, he had decided to stop for petrol, well i locked the front, my front wheel slammed into his rear wheel at a 45 degree angle, i was catapolted over my bike and his and ended up doing a few rolls on the tarmac. we were both riding in t-shirts (crazy)... driver behind stopped and said that was the best accident he had ever seen. after a lift to the next town, bikes un-ridable, patch up at the ambo station, i don't think i had a limb that wasn't bandaged, we had a good laugh about it over a beer or twenty...

I had a great moment last year...

In december, when I had my 600F, I was wheeling my bike out of the garage as per usual. Seeing as how it was snowing lightly and generally icy on the ground, I thought to myself to take it easy that day. Little did I know that I wouldn't even get that far...

So I'm wheeling out my bike (back wheel first, me on the left hand side of the bike). However, my *** hits my neighbours car which is parked on his drive - way over on my driveway. Then, realising I'm stuck between my bike and neighbours car, I decide to move it forward again. This is when it gets fun. I didn't notice the patch of ice that I was moving towards... stepped on it, slipped. Bike is falling over to the right... where my car is parked.

Cue one broken wing mirror, cracked fairing, a scuffed exhaust and one severely scratched and dented car (I cared more about the bike getting damaged than the car).

What a great way to start a monday that was. Needless to say I actually look at what I'm doing before backing out of the garage now...

No drops/wrecks under my belt yet (knock on wood). But, the other day I was riding on a military base, got my ID verified at the first cop, then pulled away and the second one saluted me. I pulled my hand off to return his salute (with the throttle hand) and the bike slowed down drastically and started swerving. Luckily I was able to get my hand back on in time to get it under control before hitting any of the cement baricades.

I'm glad to have already installed Vortex frame sliders in case I make a dumb mistake and drop it, like some of these stories.

Thanks for sharing people. Gives everyone a chance to think what they would do in that situation and maybe help prevent some accidents.

im so glad i had a moped for my first bike (250 ninja)

man was i a dumb kid, i droped it twice riding in the grass at my moms house. (pushed left turn signal into fairing)
standing on left side of it moving it around in garage and dropped it to the right side. (nothing i could do, made an awfull crunch)

but that was a while back. luckily i have learned enough back then to not have droped my new babby. only time its seen its side is when i left it at my moms over night (slight slant driveway) and rear tire got slashed causing it to fall over to the right side (cracked right side of tail fairing prety bad) just recently finished repairs, little fiberglass and a few other aircraft mechaics with painting experiance went along way. spent 27$ on paint. saved a butt load over buying a new tail fairing.

see them here-----> https://cbrforum.com/m_138313/tm.htm

Have my new 05 600 RR for about 2 months and pulling up to the driveway after work I parked it behing my Acura since my wife parked the van to close to the garage for me to get it in front of the cars which is my usual routine. I leave it out side in case I decide to ride later on after work to run errands or for a quick ride for fun. Well night comes and I'm dog tired so I decide to leave it out for the night thinking it's in its usual spot (in front of the cars). Wife leaves next morning to take the kids to school and I hear the god awefull sound of my bike alarm going off. Realizing where my bike was left at my first thought is she took too sharp of a turn and bumped the rear tire with the van setting off the impact sensor. I looked out the window to see my new ride on it's side. I rush down stairs to find my wife in shock and as I started to ask her what did she do I noticed my daughter sitting in the passenger seat of my Acura and I then realized what really happened. Only damage was a few scratches on the plastic and engine cover. Next weekend I made the left side match when I hit gravel on a blind turn. After that the bike needed some new parts........

Yesterday I was stopped at a stoplight at a busy intersection and a smoklin' hot girl pulled up behind me. I was checking her out in my mirror and I could tell she was trying to see if I was hot. The light turned green and I planned on gunning it, changing lanes and letting her pull up beside me. Well, I eased out the clutch and gave it some gas...stall. So I start the bike back up and do it again...stall. I start to panic like what the hell's wrong with my bike??!!! I did this TWO MORE times while people behind me are honking and cursing me. Then I realized I hadn't downshifted fully into 1st (I was in 2nd). So needless to say I didn't try to get that girl's number, but I did finally make it through the light. Now when I downshift into first I practically stand up on the lever to make sure it's all the way down

Had my 05 600 rr 2 weeks and was headed to a meeting at work. Part of my uniform is a baseball cap. If you own a 600 rr you know they have no storage compartment. So I loop the strap of my baseball cap throught the rear seat strap and head off to work. I get to work to find the cap was hanging over the tail while I was riding and thus over the exhaust. Burnt a hole through my cap and melted the brake light and tail section. So there I sat in my meeting with my half burnt baseball cap on thinking about where I was going to get the money to repair my new bike. $400 mistake I won't make again.

mine is sitting in traffic and like most people i balance untill i have to put my foot down, and not noticing there was an oil spill there from a car i put my foot down and slipped and just side stepped off the bike and just watched it lay on the ground awhile i was shaking my head and saying "well that was gay"...

another one is with my first bike, i just got done riding for 4 hours and needless to say i was tired. My friends meet up at a restraunt and i parked my bike behind one of their cars and not noticing how weak my legs were getting one side started going down after probably a minute struggling to not let it down (while i was calling for help and my friends laughing at me) it gently touched the ground with a lil scratch probably not even 1/4 inch wide

This was not even a week after I bought my new 06 600rr. Its the first bike I've ever owned so I didnt want rain or anything on it. and it looked like it was gonna rain pretty good.
I rode it over to the storage shed complex and usually no one is there, but this time some dude and his wife were at there shed which was almost right accross from mine. so I pull up just fine get off and open the shed pull the bike in... theres not enough room with my car that far back. so I backed the bike up far enough out so i can turn and move out of the door way and find myslef infront of a wall and the bike is still going... needless to say I lost my balance and set the bike down slowly. this was on gravel, so it scratched the right fairing.. I tried not to look at either of them after that. I just tipped the bike up, did what i needed to do and walked home.
To really make things intresting, it ended up being a very nice day out, so later that day I had gone and gotten it out again. Man I felt like an Idiot

Another day, I was at a light behind one car and in the lane next to me was a hot girl with her friends in her car. she was pulled up further so she couldnt really see me, but when the light turned green... I went to go... killed. crap so I started it up and hit the gas and the front brake and jammed myself into the tank,[:@] luckily it was barely enough brake to keep me from going... and i slowely rode away from the light. not feelling too good. I stayed back from the car with the girls. I was in pain and feeling pretty stupid. The old lady in the car behind me had the most out of it look on her face though.

The shoelace! I hate those damn shoelaces! You always get that "oh sh%$!" thought when you go to put your foot down and you're tugging furiously.

I've never dropped it, but I saw another dude in town do something that made me cry laughing. He was on the other side of the intersection. He went to put his foot down and slipped in oil. He very slowly kept sliding left. It looked like he was doing the splits on purpose. Eventually, he gave out and SMACK the bike hit. I couldn't stop laughing just because of the way it looked, but when the light turned green, I flipped a U-turn when I could to help him lift it up. I know that sucks when it happens, but you always have to laugh. Getting mad does nothing but raise your blood pressure and ruin your day. Luckily he only scuffed up his mirror and turn signal.
