I was riding last season with my buddy in a rain storm. We stopped at a red light and i went to put my left foot down and I put it right on the lane marker. Brilliant. It was soooo slick my foot just slid right out from under me. Luckily, I have the worlds best friend for a riding buddy. He saw what was happening to me and without batting an eye stuck his arm out and grabbed my handle bar. He held it just long enough for me to get my footing back. Needless to say I bought all the beer that night.

- on a side note, this buddy of mine was shipped off last week to Iraq with the marines. He's a fellow rider who's doin his thing for us. Wish him luck. I have mad respect for all you guys who are in the military - thanks.

got one for ya, a buddy of mine had his 650s for a little over 2 weeks, when one night a girl invited him over to a party, he arrived, got off the bike, walked to her door only to hear a "smack" from behind him. his kickstand was in a crack in the concrete and skidded out and the bike went down hard. injuries were a rashed fairing, broken turn signal, and broken mirror.

ORIGINAL: doncollins

Leaving from work today, Friday traffic on a naval base (the largest naval base in the world) with tons of traffic around me, a fire truck passes us going in the opposite direction and traffic comes to a sudden stop. That’s not really my mistake yet. I have a habit of balancing as long as I can when stopping before putting a foot down. When I went to move my foot, it was stuck. My pants leg was over the heel guard and held me in place long enough to fall over. Talk about embarrassing moments. Lucky for me, I installed a set of vortex frame sliders a few weeks back and they did the trick. All I got was a scuff on the bottom of the puck. I had to turn the key off and back on to reset the safety so I could start it back up. So I’ve shared my “to date most embarrassing moment”… what’s yours?
well i wear really baggy pants (before i even thought i would have a bike).. well im not a jeans person, like the basketball pants - i guess i could sleep in school because they were so comfortable.. but i got my pant legs stuck on the shifting pegs plenty of times, never had a drop before at a stop.. But after the first 10 times of getting my pant legs stuck, i bought some tighter cargo pants which would be alittle be more safer with my bike (luckly the pant legs never catch into the sockets or the chain itself).. im getting more into the leathers and mesh jackets now, not so bad to wear... (yes, i still put on my mesh jacket even tho my bike is destroyed.. kind-of gives me a flashback to the good ole days haha)

You and me both city worker. I baby my bike so much I'm just so afraid of wrecking!

Man the human race is pathetic. Does anyone else find it pathetic that we find so much entertainment and laughter in other peoples misfortunes? LOL It's so weird how we find it so funny, and it is freakin funny.

Sorry to hear about that, I always thought about that happening to me. So because I am 5'6" and just being extra caucious the tendency is to put both feet down before coming to a stop. I almost had the same incident happened to me and I just had extra time to get my pant from being caught.
