600 mile check up

RE: 600 mile check up
There's a touch more to the 600 mile than just oil & throttle & clutch. All major bolts need to be checked for factory torque values. These bikes vibrate & if something didn't get torqued completely in the build and/or assembly it's time to catch it now.
Also, checking the chain for correct adjustment - again it's a new breakin type deal. Stretch & other wear issues is going to occur & it's best to catch early if there's any sort of problem developing.
Finally checking the suspension adjustments is also called out.
I personally chose to stick with OEM oil & OEM filter to not call into question anything during continued breakin under warranty. Switching to synthetic this early is not recommended by many gurus.

If you choose to stick to OEM oils and filters or not..... isn't the important thing. Just remember to save the OEM filter if you ever have to take the bike in for a warranty job. Non-OEM items, like oil filters, will void the strict Honda warranty. This is per my local shop... They felt the need to explain this to me today when I picked up a new filter. I told them thanks for the tip and I'll be sure to keep the OEM filter incase I need to bring the bike in for anything. They guy looked at me like I had a third eye or something. Maybe he thought I was being rude. []

o wurd, yea i checked the chain.. do that almost everyday lol! i didnt know that if you dont use the factory oil filter it could void the warranty... but yea i'll keep one here just incase and they jackass at the shop sold me the wrong oil filter cap... so im sitting there for like 30 mins wondering why i cant get the oil filter out... so i just went and bought one of those universal ones.. lol
