600 comparo?
Hi guys,
My last bike was a 2004 600RR.
I have been without a ride last year and I can't stand it anymore!!!
I am on the market for a new motorcycle and I was wondering if one of you guys could post
a comparo of the 2006 600's.
Any of you know anyone with owning the new R6 or Gixxer. Any comments on these?
That would be highly appreciated.
Keep riding!
Pat

RE: 600 comparo?
my roomate just got an 06 r6 and i have to say it is a sweet *** bike. im not a huge guy im about 6'1' and it is just way to cramped for me i have an f4i so im used to a more relaxed riding postition to begin with. the only other downside in my mind is the exhaust i just cant get used to the way it looks but hey to each his own. performance wise it screams it really is a fun bike to ride but for the type of riding i do im willing to loose a little performance for comfort not a comparo but some info on the r6 at least!

RE: 600 comparo?
I am 5'10', 190. I guess it should not be too bad.
I always owned Suzooks and Hondas, but you're right, the R6 is pretty nice, this year.
Do you know if it is very nervous? I know that under hard acceleration, my 600RR gave me a couple of
scary tank slappers!!! (Is there a sterring damper on the R6).
Thanks for the info!!

Im not tryin to call you out bro [&:] but the hondo is supposed to be one of the most stable of the 600's... honda is usually pretty damn good in that department. Were you maybe twitchin the wheel to one side after it got a bit of air under it or??? just curious...
anyways... The new r6 is pretty good from what I hear. My bros friend has one and says its a nice ride. A bit taller first gear and the fly by wire throttle may take some getting used to on a 600, but he says he has no problems with it other than that.
The new 636's are monsters. Somewhat unstable, but a lot more stable than the previous versions. Still the monster motor and the "light" front end effect. My bro loves it. plus, you get the tidy undertail exhaust
The new gixxers, if anything like the 1k's, you might as well forget about the mirrors working. Sportbike mirrors have never been real good, but with the turn signal in them you cant adjust much, or get a good fov. Other than that, they are supposed to have upped the anty quite a bit as far as engine/suspension/ride characteristic.
In my mind, you cant really go wrong. If you can wait, the 07 600rr's should be a good deal... if they revamp like they have been.
You really cant go wrong with any of the sportbikes of today. as far as performance per dollar, you cant lose
good luck in your search... and remember "Honda doesnt claim 17,500... they just win" hahahah saw that on someones sig :P
take care,
Chris
