Thats basically it, they do an oil n filter change to get all the new metal out and have a quick check over the odd item like idle speed, light aim, smooth gear changes. and usually any unusual noises. The first service is the only one i had done at a dealer and it won`t go back until 16K when the valve clearences need checking. The only reason for that is i don`t want the responsability for cocking up something so important.

What did your first service cost you??? I am thinking about having my first one done at the dealer and then changing the oil myself after that.
