Default 1st gear...Help!

When I shift into first gear it's seems like something is def. wrong.... It feels like it jumps into gear with a loud sort of clanking noise, the bike also moves forward a bit. I typically try to punch it into gear to make it better. It’s the worst when I'm stopped from neutral to 1st….. If I am downshifting from 2nd I can rev the engine a bit to make better. All other gears are fine. Is this a clutch issue, bad gear?

Every Honda bike I've ever ridden has done this, an F2, F4i, and my 600rr. I think it's just something most Honda sport bikes do...
A minor drawback IMO, these are insanely fun/well built bikes.

The F2 was my first bike, and it did that on the way home, and I thought "Great, I bought a POS!", turns out it wasn't a big deal at all, and now I wouldn't trade in my CBR for anything (other than a 1000rr maybe )!

Yes it is normal to a point some noise ..but u also mentioned it lurks forward when placed into gear ..i would def check the clutch cable for adjustment and fluid levels and if you are still in doubt let a mechanic take a listen ...........any shop that is worth its weight wont charge to give you there opinion just my 2 cents

+1^^^ if the bike is lurking forward with the clutch disengaged, it should be adjusted.
