just checking- when my 05's fan kicks in about 217-220F, it makes a distinct whirring/whistling sound.
is this common for 05's? i didn't notice it on my '04 or prevous bikes.

 

Never heard it on mine. I can hear the fan kick on if I listen for it, but it's not something I would notice.

 

I always used to notice when my fan came on my old 05. I notice the fan on my new zx10r as well.....

 

That would be the fan alright. I can only hear it when I come to a stop and the fan kicks in, a really high pitched whirring. When riding the fan most likelywon't come on,but if it does the 2Broswould justdrown it out.

 

yeah, i only hear it come on during stop and go boring city traffic. just not used to the whistly sound it makes.

 

I hear it on both my cbr and gsxr it sounds like a jet starting up I LIKE IT You should only worry if you don't hear the fan kicking on lol
