I took my bike out for about a 15 mile ride one day and everything was working fine. I came home and turned it off and went to take it out on the same day. Lights turn on fully, no dimming, everything works. I push the starter and nothing.

I hear an electrical sound like a whining. But the bike just doesn't turn on. I think it's my starter. Obviously it's not my battery because I just came back from a ride where both hi and low headlights worked fine. So my question to everyone is, what could be the problem?

If it's the starter, how much does that cost to fix?

If you hear whinning your fuel pump is priming so check your kickstand sensor.

To clarify:
You are pulling in clutch lever, pulling up kickstand and hitting the switch?
