Wasup everyone. I'm new and have PICS!!
Well, my name's Joe. I just bought this bike about 3 days ago. The battery was having problems to where I fully charged it and it was dead by the next day. I just bought a new batter today and filled it up and charged it and installed it. Bike works great right now. I can't ride it yet though. I'm in the AirForce and you gotta take a safety course first before you are allowed to ride. That's cool though because these courses cost a few hundred and I get it free. I got about 2 weeks to stare at it. lol. In the pics, you can see I need a new front tire so I got time to fix it up. I want to change the oil too sooner or later. I'm jsut hoping I won't have the same charging issues you guys are having. Also, the stickers will go sooner or later. I want new fairings. Anyway, here's the pics:

oh yea, some info on her. Its a '99 F4 with 22k miles. I do have a q. though. What do ya'll usually set your idle to? I've tried putting it around 7-8 hundred but it sounds like the engine is about to quit so i bump it up to abou 1000. is that alright?

I keep my idle little over 1000 rpm. Thats how it was when I got it so thats what I keep it at. Plus I'm sure that is normal. Every car I've driven is the same at idel. And everyone I've ridden with regardless of the make and model of the bike has run the same rpm at idle.
I would take full advantage of both the basic and advanced MSF course while you're in the airforce. I was in the army and got out a little over a month and a half ago. I took the basic MSF course and tried to do the advance but my chain of command was full of a bunch douche bags. So it didn't happen. Now I have to pay full price when I decide to take the course. So I've decided just to go for the track courses here in Phoenix in place of the advanced MSF course.
I'm not sure how your bike runs but it looks like its in good condition. Congrats on your new buy! Hope you enjoy.

nice looking bike... weird chinese stickers... but looks to be in good shape.
unfortunately, i'm thinking you're gonna have another dead battery in less than 2 weeks. if so, get yourself a new regulator/rectifier take the 5 minutes to replace it and you'll be good to go. trust me, i went through more than a couple batteries before figuring it out and replacing the R/R. been good ever since.
good luck.

if you want to get your license plate up higher under the taillight without cutting your fender off completely you can bore out the upper left hole to 3/4 in. and put the lock through it. my buddy and i did it the other day and took some pics, if anyone is interested i can post a how to.
