i was riding today and im no mechanic but the bike got super loud half way into my ride and makes a really loud banging noise when its at low rpm, at first i thought it was something to do with the muffler, so i turned around and drove home, the bike seemed okay to ride just loud as hell like it didnt have exhaust, and maybe a little power loss... now after i got it home and took off the fairing and it appears to me the piston is whats making the banging coming up through the block...i hope im wrong but i have a bad feeling and im pretty sure your not supposed to see the piston coming out of the block.....someone please tell me im wrong, how expensive of a fix is this going to be bringing it into a shop?????????? fml..........................................

 

you should not be able to see the piston from outside of the engine.......possible to upload some pics to see what you are describing?

pics pics pics you are not suppose to see the piston at all. I would start looking for a new motor or a newer bike. You my friend are fubared

 

well its a very hard place to get a good picture of but I will try after work, I ended up taking the bike into a Honda dealer and they told me its not that big of a problem, one of the spark plugs came loose and that is what is getting pushed out of the engine everytime the piston pushes it in and out, they said to take the gas tank off and tighten and probably replace all the spark plugs, aslong as there are no metal shavings they dont think its anything to be worried about, what a relief

 

You would think if they found the problem, they would take 5-10 minutes to tighten it for you. The tread isn't stripped is it?
