Are there any lower/further forward footpegs available for our bikes?
The question:
Are there rearsets that will lower the F4's footpegs, and/or maybe even move them forward? Probably just down a few inches would be sufficient.
The background:
I'm on the cusp of selling my F4, and buying something newer and more utilitarian/practical, and also more comfortable. I'm old enough to have kids as old as some on this board, though I don't have.
Specifically, I'm looking very hard at Honda's new NC700X, or alternatively perhaps a used Buell Ulysses.
Tonight, though, I'm getting cold feet, so to speak. This F4 is bullet-proof, cost me essentially nothing, gets me over 50 mpg, and will probably last me many more years if I were to keep it (I only have ~27k on it now). I can at least put hard saddlebags on it (hard luggage is one of the things I've decided I must have for utility and security), or hopefully I can find a trunk/top case.
The thing is, I need a little more space. I don't mind the ride to work and back, but for much of anything longer, I'd _really_ rather have some more room. Lower rearsets _may_ accomplish this for me.
Thanks for any help or pointers.

Well, you have to know that we're going to do our best to convince you to NOT sell your F4! ;-) The F4 is very utilitarian compared to many other sport bike models. My F4 is my do-everything bike...for around town, commuting, sport-touring, twisties & track. You are certainly right about the MPG as well. Ok, I've given my pep-talk to keep it, I'll get on to the foot-peg issue :-)...
We had a thread some time ago, I believe asking a similar question as yours regarding the pegs/peg positioning. IIRC, the member did find a suitable solution w/ another peg option. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name here. Perhaps some searches would get you to that thread.

Thanks, Gotcbr, I knew I could count on you!
I think I must be blind. The place that a member here pointed me to for saddle-bag mounts (SW-Motech) also has replacement pegs available. There are two pages, and I'll have to call them to ask what the difference is. Here's what I found:
MFW Vario Footpeg Mount, Rider (most Honda models) - NC700X - Honda - Shop by Bike - TwistedThrottle.com
MFW Vario Footpeg Mount, Passenger (Honda CBR600F, CBR600RR, VFR800, CBR900RR, CBR1000RR, VTR1000F, VTR1000 SP1/SP2, XL1000V, CBR1100XX, & ST1300) - TwistedThrottle.com
I don't honestly see the difference. I also see that they have 3/4" clip-on risers. That may be nice, too, since being more upright would also help under various circumstances.
If only I didn't have to spend a grand to get new pegs, bar risers, hard luggage, etc, BEFORE I knew whether that would really accomplish what I'm after.
I'm leaving town on a work trip tomorrow. When I get back this weekend, the bike may or may not still be here. Perhaps I'll choose to accept whichever 'condition' (bike or no bike) I find upon my return as a sign...

The footpeg fitting is the same as the Honda Blackbird so you have a couple of options.
Footpeg lowering brackets - look 3/4 down this page - Jaws Blackbirds. Motorcycle parts supplys for the Blackbird
Buell footpegs - They mount to honda mounts but sit lower.
