Taking in bike for a walkaround: remove fairings?

Hi again. I got my bike used and a local bike shop (non Honda dealer) offered to do a "walk around" of the bike for "free" and will write down recommendations for me. I'm also having them specifically inspect my brake, clutch, and choke cables for lube and possible replacement.
I'm thinking, would it be better for me to remove my side fairings first so they can see and get at more things easily? I think if they do any work, they charge per hour and I'd hate them to eat 15-30 minutes removing my fairings.
When you'all take your bikes in for service (I know many do their own), do you remove fairings? I've heard of folks riding "naked" (i.e., keeping the fairings off). For me, I like them on as I think they look cool.
Thanks,
Dennis

sure take em off, no harm in riding it up without the side fairings on. I've done it before. I've ridden with no plastics on it before 'cept for tail fairing of course...kinda fun, bike feels a lot smaller and believe it or not I actually got more attention from pedestrians when it was naked...lots of thumbs up...I don't think I ever got that **** with the fairings on...weird.
I got a q...where's the brake cable located? lol

I agree jreidg3 -- there is significant difference in price when you bring a tire and not the whole bike when you go to get a tire change. For my cruiser, I think it was $70 vs. $25
Aweasel, I think that's what I'll do -- go naked (i.e., the bike). It could be fun riding this thing without fairings. It's funny when you take stuff off and the bike just feels smaller -- even if it's the same bike.
I hear ya, when these bikes get going, you just don't want to use that brake. The power band is interesting.
Thanks folks.

The service manager was thankful that I removed the fairings for him and his technician. I found removing the fairings goes faster with a drill to turn out the 14 bolts. I loosened them via socket wrench and then turned them using a very low drill setting and saved my wrist from all the turning.
