For anyone who is thinking about drilling and tapping there swingarm for spools, don't forget to double check suspension travel. I thought that i had enough clearence but instead i have a 1 inch diameter hole in my yosh rs3 carbon slipon.

If it's on the bottom you could get away with buying a scrap piece of carbon fiber on ebay and patch it real quick. Carbon fiber isn't much different than fiberglass.

 

This is what i was thinking .Do you know if fiberglass would work? I have some of that kicking around.

 

It works the same way but a couple days wait on a carbon scrap would probably satisfy you for the long run.

 

I was sitting home lastnight looking online for a new slipon and i had a great idea. So first thing in the morning i grabbed my drill and trusty, slightly, rusty hacksaw and proceeded to chop 7 inches off of my pipe. She sounds more throaty now and it looks good too.Here is a before and after pic.

 

Good thinking... and it looks better . Just don't put a another hole in it
