Steering Stabalizers
Hey guys, I have this scotts steering dampner on my bike and I worry about someone taking this while I'm parked at school or at the mall. If you have this dampner you know it only takes less than5 min to uninstall. I put the security bolts on there but still not too confident leaving it parked for a long period of time especially at school. My question is am I just too worried or do guys feel the same? Basically do you remove it when you know you're going to be parked for a while?
A lot of things can be ripped off of our bikes... get a 2-way alarm with ultra sensitivity and good range, and pack a pipe in your backpack or something...
Taking parts off and bringing them with you is just too much work, as well as wear on the parts.
I know what you mean about being super nervous parking it for a while... I always park where I'm able to see it from inside, but if it's a sketchy area I'll take my car!

Thanks. I live in a good area and I just people have respect at the college parking lot. I've talked to a lot of people who have bikes at school and hopefully they will let me know if something is up. I've never really been worried but the dampner just really stick out.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
This isn't really pertaining to your stabalizer but I know what you mean about being nervous. I just moved to Penn State -State College. I hear drunks yelling at all hours of the night and car tires squealing. All the time I know my bike is sitting in the middle of this. I haven't had a good nights sleep since I brought the bike up(unless I get hammered before bed).
Penn State - I'd worry about your bike too with all those drunks running loose... especially you guys keep winning football games... Naw, just messin. Get a good lock, Hershey mentioned an alarm, get involved with the school riding club if you guys have one, and get good insurance to cover any mishaps. That should ease your mind a bit.
I was just worried aboutthe stabalizer because I justgot it and it stands out. And I've only seen a few stabalizers out there.
