Default Starting CBR 600 F4 SUPERB Track build

Hi Guys,

Sorry for not introducing my self in the 'new member section'

I race a CBR 600 F4 1999 in the No budget cup www.nobudgetcup.be

Since I like fiddeling with the bike, I have decided to do some major upgrade for next season. I have searched & researched and it didn't give me all the answers I wanted, so now I'll just go for it.

I will make sure to take lot's of photo's on the way.

Bike now:
Öhlins front internals + maxton rear shock: Great setup
Bike is lifted 5mm in the rear and lowered 2mm front. Quicker steer.

Standard engine, switching between full system micron + kn and standard for 95db tracks.

Active quick action throttle

Sprint steering damper

Full track body, cut rear subframe, removed unnecessary this and that.

Upgrades over winter
CBR 1000RR '06complete front end to be able to run 320mm disk, saves 3kg total. Haven't found a lot on info on this, but should be a direct swap

CBR f4I 06 swing arm: Newer - possible ligther than stock? 06 rear wheel lighter?

F4I track body, ram air need conversion to fit in f4 airbox

Full titanium system Jardine exhaust

HRC race clocks: Need to work out wiring.

Brembo RCS master cylinder

Factory pro jet kit

Factory pro evo shift kit

Aluminium race radiator

Remove alternator

That's it for now. Work will be done over winter. If you have any info/input please let me know!

Thanks,
Martin

Welcome aboard Denfrosnesko! Let's see some pics.

BTW, I've seen the 1000RR front end swap on the F4.

Nice...

I have a few questions:

How do you plan on getting rid of the alternator?
What HRC clocks are you running?
What radiator will you run? I can't imagine the weight savings to be more than a few ounces.

Thanks for commenting !

Nice build, that fx. I read that the 954 fork were a direct swap so I hope the ones from the SC57 is the same. Reason for chosing them, is that my friend and team mate already had an extra pair with K-tec 20mm internals. So now I just need the complete triple clamp and brake calibers. Ebay is my friend!

The bike will run total loss. I haven't tried to remove an alternator before, but I hope it's just to take it out and that's it.

HRC clocks are on photo. Part no: 37250-NL3-731

Radiator I bought on ebay. No clue about brand. Only reason for changing is that the original one got damaged in a high side last race. No sure about any real advantage there.

No work have begun yet, but I have found all parts and will start buying today.

Are you going to run an ignition advancer?

I have the Factory Pro Race jet kit and their adjustable advancer -6 to +6 in 1 deg indexing on my F3. The race kit gives you more adjustablity but requires work to get it just right. Most kits you just replace the needle and the main jets. With the race kit you change everything, drilling and tapping is required.

I was thinking about running the standard ignition advancer, 4 degrees. Any thoughts?

The factory pro kit should be better than then dyno jet one and I don't mind tapping and drilling.

At the start of the season the engine was dyno jetted and had 102hp. Unfortunately we had engine problems and changed to standard carbs. Turned out to be a vacuum problem, so now I want to go back to bigger jets and a better kit.

UPDATE

I got the CBR 1000 RR front end installed now. Easy work, direct fit. It seems like it's 7mm lower than the standard front end, but I don't believe that will be a problem for a track bike. Will just give me faster steer in.

Also I have install HRC clocks, raceloom and I'm now running total loss ignition. Can't wait to get it on track in March!
