Default Shift lever

I got my bike back from the shop and they put a new shift rod in my old one was bent...but now when i shift I have to lift my whole foot off the peg to get it into gear? Is there a way I can lower the lever so it does not sit so high?

Remove this bolt completely. I believe it is a 10 mm. After you remove it, pull the assembly off. You can put it back on at different angles, changing the location of your shifter lever. Before you bolt it back on, get on and see how it feels.

Does this nut need to be torqe wrenched or does 'tight' work?

I'm sure there is a torque spec somewhere but "tight" should work. Long as it doesn't come loose then you cant shift =)

You can also loosen the lock nuts on either end of the shift rod and twist the shaft to raise or lower the pedal. Try to keep keep the gearshift arm and shift rod close to a 90 degree angle if possible.
