Rebuilding CBR600 F4.. Compatability parts info needed..
Hello all.. This is my first post here, and I apologize for the length of my first post. I', new to your forum, but not
to motorcycles, or cars. I've been a mechanic for 15+ years and I'm certified.
Anyhow, moving to the questions at hand.. I'm condemplating picking up a dropped '01? CBR 600 F4. The bike was dropped
hard enough to destry the plastics and slid into a curb which bent the forks. I understand that there's a possibility that the
frame could be bent, but all that will be checked and checked again before I order the needed parts.
Since the bike has bent forks, smashed plastics, damaged fairing stay, broken meter panel and some other small odd's and
ends. I would like to know what parts from another CBR are also compatible. What are the main differences between the 600RR
(other than suspension) and the F4i? Can the parts from these bikes be used? I'm just wanting to make the bike back to specs.
I saw forks and plastic sets (aftermarket) on ebay.. Any input on those fairing sets?
Lastly, is there a 2 seperate seat for the F4 or would I need to mod the RR one and how much fabrication are we talking?
Thanks

I'm using an 05 1000rr shock, but instead of pointing the reservoir to the back, you have to turn it around and it'll run right where the stock shock is now. I have the swing arm/shock/carbon feder/chaingaurds all assembled and ready to go, I'm just waiting for my mechanic to fix my truck so I have something to drive while I'm doing the conversion.

I know this is an old dead thread, But I am in the exact same situation as you right now, and have everything ordered/replaced except the front forks. What forks will work on my 02 f4i? Ive watched here and on ebay for a good deal. I am seeing 600rr fork go for a lot cheaper then ones off of an f4i, and Im sure there is a reason for it. Would like to know what you used to replace yours if you remember or if anyone else knows that compatibility of these. Would like to use my stock f4i front fender, but if thats the only thing holding me up Id rather use rr forks and fender to get her on the road.
Thanks in advance for any help....havent found anything solid on here and have been searching/reading all day.

get the newer 600rr front end, make sure you get it all brakes, rim and tire, even both triple clamps, and ignition, which will mean your bike will have a new key, and not match the gas cap, so have two keys or get the gas cap with it, then you can have inverted forks, will definatly improve handling, also u could use a 1000rr front end for a stiffer setup, which i prefer, the f4 and f4i shocks are mushy
