Default Rear end

Wondering can some one give me some advice on my 00 cbr600f! I have had my bike for a good few years and she has seen better days! Am going to strip her down and clean her up etc and going for a new paint scheme and wondering if it's possible to replace the rear end of the bike with that of a newer RR version?? Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks
Jonny

If you have a 2000 CBR 600, its an *F4* model. Is that what you have?

there are a few options. the obvious is get a new or used penske/ohlins shock.
the other 2 more available (cheaper..) is either a 06 F4i shock with low milage, that will get a shock half the age of yours, or get an 600RR but that requires shims and a bit of grinding like in this thread.
