Default radiator fan problem

I bought the bike with the radiator fan hooked up to a switch and it works and everything but the problem is that when the bike is on idle for like 2-3 min the bike would turn off
i tried puting it back the way it should so it can turn on by itself, and the fan wount turn on i checked the fuse and there is nothing wrong with it.
can anybody tell me what could be wrong/ thanks in advance

Sounds like a bad ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) switch. Its usually located on either the right hand or left hand side of the radiator.

does it go bolted on the left side of radiator and only one cable gooes to it, the one that produce ground to the fan because i replace that one but, i was reading a little bit about other people that had almost the same problem as me and they said that since i replace the ECT(well that what i think it is) i had to bleed the system or something like that i havent done that jet so im gonna try it. thanks for the help

Yes there should be only one thing attached to your radiator and that will be the ECT. It is possible that you have an air pocket in your cooling system. Should be able to bleed it out by running the bike with the radiator cap off for about 1 minute.

yes...run it off but also rev the **** out of it...revving opens up the t-stat and pushes all bubbles out...

The thermostat won't open until a certain engine coolant temp is reached, usually around 160 deg. F. If you run it without the cap until the thermostat opens up, you'll know when the thermostat opens b/c the coolant inside the radiator will be flowing instead of just kind of vibrating. It is possible that you will lose some, but it shouldn't be too much.
