Price for a valve check/adjustment and change brake fluid
I was wondering what are people paying for a valve adjustment. I be calling around for my 99 F4 and I have been getting such varied prices I really do not know who to go to. I do not want to just pick the lowest price....afraid I will get what I paid for. Also have the same question for changing out the brake fluid.

RE: Price for a valve check/adjustment and change brake fluid
Live in Missouri....still a good amount of riding left to be done this year. I figured it would be cheapier to wait until the winter but if the sound I am hearing is because of valves needing adjustment, then I don;t really want to wait that long (don't want a damage to the motor).

The other sound you could be hearing is the cam chain tensioner... how old is that? when do you hear the sounds? Between 4000 and 6500 mostly?
Brake fluid is an easy diy... at the shop probably quoted as 1/2 hour but they only charge for full hours... plus fluid... say $60/h.
Valves. Likely 3 hours. So we're easily talking $240.
Haven't done the CBR valves personally yet - only just got her and they were done this spring... I hear you have to lift the cam to do them? I've got some reading to do.

Some places have: Valve adjustment, oil change, filter change, antifreeze flush, brake fluid check all in one package for like 100 bucks, thats here though in CA. Missouri, idk how many riders and bike shops you have around there but the competition is fierce here, so it lowers the prices much further than other places. Just make sure you shop around. Online is a good place to look.
