Default PAIR system removal

I'm wondering if it's worthwile to remove the PAIR emissions system on my '99 F4. What do I need to do to get rid of it or block it off?

From what I read you will need to buy 49 state type carbs and redo the timing, and plug any extra nips in the airbox and motor. Besides remove a bunch of crap hoses I've heard it doesnt do anything for preformance and I've also heard it made some peoples bike slugglish, which they probably did not do correctly.

I know my bike is running good so I am going to leave it alone. I don't think removeing that stuff is going to net any performance gains.

This is real late but hopefully someone will benefit from it. When I got my bike my pair system was disconnected so I had to figure what it does to make sure it's ok. The pair system has one purpose, to inject air into the exhaust to try and burn the exhaust gas some more to reduce emmisions. **** on that!!The mostcommon probem with this system is the reed valves in the valve cover failing and screwing things up. To totally get rid of it you need to do a couple things. First, buy the plates that cover the injection ports on the valve cover. Second remove the valve the injection tubes and the vacuum line that runs to it. Plug the other end of the vacuum line that it came from and you are all set!!
