Basically, if the kickstand is down, the only way the engine will start is in neutral. Don't want to have the kickstand down and try to start it in gear and your bike try to take off on you.

Well that's useful. I was kind of thinking of ditching the key ignition and doing a remote start (with a remote like on cars) but was thinking 'how to make sure it's in neutral when it cranks. Guess this does it. Now when I hit the remote start, if it's not in neutral the kickstand swith will keep it off.
