OEM Mirror issue
So I've figured out what I needed to do to get my F4 to reliable running condition. Now I'm stuck on the issue of mirrors. The previous owner never had a right side mirror so I ordered a pair of aftermarket ones for the F4 and they matched the existing left mirror.
I go to replace the left side and am able to do so with the existing mount. Then I move to the right side and look only to find that the part that should contain a spot where I should be able to screw in two identical allen screws into the area are rusted and warped. (just completely unsalvageable)
My only solution so far is to zip tie from both angles on each opening which has kept my right side mirror stable for the time being (hit 65 on freeway and it didn't really move, vibrated a bit but held up fine). On the way in from the driveway I nudged my trashcan and one of the small zipties broke off so now the mirror is unstable. Is there anything I can resort to besides bar end mirrors? My friend has some and he says they're worthless when he hits 80-90 on the freeway, they just fold back from all the wind. thanks!
Visual aid later.
