Default odometer not working

Hi, the odometer on my buddys bike just quit working. I was wondering if there is anything he could do to get it fixed, or He will have to bring it to a dealership because it an odometer related issue.

Yes, your friend can repair the gauges or replace them. Just to be sure...has your buddy checked the connections?

It would be extremely costly to have a dealership replace them, which is more than likely what they would do if the odo is no longer working.

Unfortunately, if replacement is necessary, its highly unlikely that the replacement gauges will have the same mileage. Depending on the dmv, a mileage correction statement/affidavit may be required upon sale.

Odometer cable links to the front forks near the caliper. But mine is not digital, a older 94 CBR. Please research bike year & odometer cable connection.
