That is why the jumper is placed across the Black/White and Black/Blue wires of the Fuel Pump Transfer Relay in the Discharge Volume Inspection procedure. That would provide continuous 12v to the pump. But again, it appears to be running fine.

oh! i missed that part! i will certainly attempt the test to verify, but now that you have clarified that i would agree that it appears to be functioning as normal.

Thank you!

honestly, yeah...I would say these fuel pumps are rubbish. I have now had my bike for a little over 3 years and put about 8,000 miles on it so far. I ended up replacing the fuel pump and fuel filter just for peace of mind (especially because it left me stranded on the highway once) and I have not had any problems since. the reason these fuel pumps are rubbish is because they are using a points style contact. this contact is the metal part that you pressed in the pump. every time the pump pumps, the points close creating an arc. that arc creates carbon which fouls the points, eventually causing a lack of contact. no contact means no pump. I have seen a few different methods on how to convert the points over to solid state which increases the reliability significantly, which I have not yet done myself, but plan to do in the future.
