Way they do newer EFI ECUs is program new RFID onto keys and ECU at same time so they match.
Looks like they have found a way to read the info off of the ECU to be able to reprogramme the keys.
Worth a call to them to check I suppose.

Yeah certainly wouldn't hurt to contact and see if they can do it. Would be interesting to see if they're able to extract RFID code from ICM.

I have just had a chat with the guys this morning and they confirmed that they are able to extract the codes from the ECU and therfore able to code the keys to match.
So, looks like a reasonable way forward if required.

didn't realize they introduced a communication protocol for the non-US bikes. the more you know....

Agreed, it is strange that there are a few quite different changes to the 'same' bike in the different regions I wonder if it was legislation at the time that drove it? Still what a great learning opportunity.
Off the top of my head, the differences that I know of are:
HISS system in the UK/EU v Pink Wire in the US
Front indicators used as driving light in the US only
No centre stand in the US
No Sport Model in the US it was the twin seat 2001 to 2004 the banana seat 2004 - 2006 I think. The sport (twin seat version for 2001 and 2002) sold alongside the F (banana seat model 2001-2006) in the UK / EU.
Adjustable forks removed in EU/UK 2004-2006
Different colour schemes EU/UK to US
No 'CA' equivalent in UK /EU
Any more for any more?
