New issue...
So I was working on my bike and decided to take a break and go for a quick ride. Upon starting (attempting) it up, it never wanted to idle. It would always die after. I found out that when I pulled the throttle back all the way, it would idle around 1.5k rpm. It wouldn't rev any higher, and as soon as I let the throttle go, it would die. I was only working on the cosmetics of the bike when this happened. So I'm hoping somebody here might know what is going on and what might fix the issue. Thanks in advance!

Ok, so after working my bike today and starting to put pieces re-back together, I noticed a tab on the bottom of the tank that said "on - off - on." I'm taking it that, that is the switch you guys were talking about. Why are there two on's? Is one the main tank and one the reserve? Also, there are 3 tubes that get connected to the gas tank and 2 cables. I know where the two cables go and the one tube that gets connected to the switch, but there is a small nipple in the middle that i attached, but after following that hose, it doesn't appear to go anywhere. The hose just "dead ends" with an open end that doesn't look like it's ever had a clamp around it or anything. The other hose, was shorter and appeared to just "fall-off" at the front of the rear tire. So I'm wondering if those are both "breather" hoses to allow air into the tank to not build up pressure, or if one of them gets attached somewhere. Any help would be great!
I can/will take pictures tomorrow and attempt to show you what I mean.

Yes those two hoses are overflow/breather tubes. There is a thicker one and one with a smaller nipple. Why the petcock has two on's? Don't know, just put turn it on (whichever 'on' you prefer). The F4 doesn't have a separate reserve tank. It's 2 in 1 and the reserve fuel sensor let's you know when you are running low. The two 'dead ending' tubes are routed on the left side of the bike just in front of the front sprocket and are wedged in a small rectangular tab on the left fairing (to keep it in place).
