Red face new to the forum and needing advice already!!!

Just a couple of mechanical questions...

1. what grade/type of oil should i put in the engine?
it was serviced before i got the bike but they filled it to the minimum line ( tight ! ) im planning on doing some milage on her next week with the mrs as pillion and would rather make sure there is more than the minimum level required.
2. how do you stiffen the rear shock, as ill be carring the mrs next week for a little tour of the east of england...

thanks for any assistance

graham

Any quality 10w40 motorcycle oil will be fine. Be sure when you add oil that you don't overfill. Somewhere btwn the two oil window lines (but closer to top line) will be fine.

Don't stiffen that shock too much or your mrs will be launched! Anyway, consult your owner's manual or search the forum for a step by step on the shock settings.

Welcome aboard.

the f4 and f4i dont mind a little over fill. stunters run roughly half a quart more than recommended to help with wheelies. That being said get it close and you have nothing to worry about. as for the shock you can adjust the dampner by the screw on the nitrogen cartridge. I believe there is another one on the bottom of the shock, and using a shock wrench you can adjust the spring height which is numbered. Read the owners or service manual both which can be downloaded by a simple search and it will explain the procedure.
