So I started this project at the beginning of last summer and now I'm getting a lot closer to having her running. First I dropped the motor, split the cases(thanks to everyone on the fourm with the help), replaced the transmission, re-assembled the motor and mounted it, now I need help with the wiring. I have the service manual and I've used the wiring diagram but it looks like whoever had the bike before me, replaced a few wires with ones that are not the same color as they are supposed to be. So right now I'm trying to get the starter to fire. I have the wire on the top of the starter going to the relay, but apparently the starter needs a ground that just connects to one of its mounting bolts? So I'm going to try to ground the starter and see if it fires up. But I'm not sure if the relay is bad or what. When I hit turn the kill switch on, the fuel pump kicks on but the electric start doesn't do anything when I press it.
