Need info on F4 frame
I purchased a complete F4 front end including forks, trees, calipers and axle from a 2000. I am planning to use it on my 1971 Norton Commando.
I am planning a cafe style rebuild on this bike.
What I need to know is the overall length of the steering neck and the depth of the machining inside the neck for the inner bearing races. I know the lower bearing diameter is 55mm and the upper is 47mm. I am trying to decide if I can use the honda stem or have a new stem machined to fit the stock Norton bearings. Using the honda stem is the best option from a performance standpoint.
If anyone has there front forks off maybe you could measure and reply. I don't think the steering stem is unique to the F4. Honda uses these bearings in most of ther bikes.
