Default Exhaust

I am going to be doing the f4i tail swap here, this upcoming week, and I was wondering will the f4 exhaust still work, even tho the tail is a f4i. The reason I ask is because I am about to order a 2 bros carbon fiber pipe, and i want to make sure that it will still fit lol

thx guys

Yes.. you will be fine. from my research on here, I have learned that the F4 and F4i headers are different.. and it is the header that determines which slip on to use..

ie.. F4 header uses F4 slipon.. F4i header uses F4i slipon... some F4is have O2 sensors.. but if the bike doesnt have one you block it off..

You dont have to worry about your tail swap unless you want a high mount exhaust I believe... thats when the tail might come into play.

Stock F4 exhaust hanger will not mount to same location on F4i subframe rear peg. The F4i subframe peg is farther back. You can still make the stock can work but you'll have to fab/rig up something to connect the peg to the hanger. It will look poor but you can make it work.

As for aftermarket exhaust... I've got a Yoshi slip-on on my F4 w/ split-seat conversion. It was on the bike when it still had the banana-seat rear subframe/tail. Great thing about the after market exhaust is that the hangers are adjustable to the position you need them to mount to rear peg.

If you look closely in my pic, you'll see where the bracket left a wear mark where the hanger was w/ the stock tail. Did the conversion & simply moved the bracket back to where it was necessary, & bolted up.

I've since gotten rid of the shovel & installed a Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator (very nice quality).

Of course I defer to gotcbr... and I stand corrected..

I wasnt sure about the hangers, but then again I just assumed that an aftermarket pipe would work on it.. I know I shouldnt have assumed nonetheless.. lol
