RE: need help buying a new chain & sprocket
On my 00 F4 I went with a 520 conversion set up. I went to a JT sprocket set up with 3 teeth up in the rear and 1 tooth down on the front. Then with a RK chain (the 520 over the 525 saves a bit of weight). I personally have a rivet style master link and went out and got the Motion Pro chain tool set up so I had the ability to rivet the master link as well as break chain, etc.... Now it is recomended that these chains are set up with a rivet style master link to make an "endless" chain, however my cousin actually stunts his bike and his chain has not 1 but 2 clip style master links, and has never had any problems with it. Now I wouldn't recomend 2 master links but 1 clip style is ok, most of my riding buddies all have clip style links.

RE: need help buying a new chain & sprocket
Well, I've been reading up. I think I want to get some vortex sprockets because they are alum and a DiD chain. But...How much of a difference is -1/0 and -1/+3 from stock and how should I go about buying the stuff? I dont think they sell Vortex and DiD together in kits? Can someone point me in that direction?

For the sprockets, click here: http://www.kneedraggers.com/list/cat...icle_year=1999 and select the front and rear sprockets you want as well as the number of teeth. Make sure you get the 520 sprockets to match your 520 chain.
For the chain, click here: http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Chap...14B4C7BA73E33C . For the DID chains, I don't know if they come with a master link or not, but with the RK chains, they come with the clip style chain.
As far as the affects of going 15/48, you will have more acceleration but your topend will suffer. Your RPMs will increase at your usual cruising speed and your odometer and speedometer will be off as well. I, personally, went 15/47 and enjoy the added acceleration and don't mind the top end, because I have no reason to be going that fast on public streets.
