Default Looking for an engine

So with spring finally showing up I'm starting to realize that I'm just not going to have the time to finish my engine, so I thought I'd see if anybody here has an engine for my 2000 F4 that they're willing to sell. I live in Western Canada, but am open to anything in Canada or America.
Thanks!

Hope you find something asap. Are there any motorcycle salvage yards near you? There's always eb*y or factory Honda.

Good luck.

Thanks!

Local wrecker has an engine, but wants $900 and has no idea how many miles are on it.
A couple on the aforementioned website, looking like they're in rough shape though, and I did find a guy locally who's bike is thrashed and is selling the wreckage, but he wants close to what the bike would be worth if he hadn't wrecked it. (Would it harm the engine running for a few moments on it's side? Experience tells me that CAT engines don't like it.)

You're right, they don't.

It may have changed since last quote but a new engine direct from Honda was about $950. So NO, I wouldn't spend $900 for a used engine of unknown origin/use/damage.

Who did you talk to for the quote? Both Honda dealerships I spoke with yesterday tell me that Honda doesn't sell a replacement engine.

Complete engines may no longer be available.

PM on the way, I may have other options for you...

I went another way with this, bought an 06 RR, now I can take my time and rebuild my engine.

Okay, I found an engine locally, however, a quick compression test shows approximately 90, 40, 40,60. I'm told by a few guys that this isn't a problem as once I adjust the valves and get the engine spinning the compression will come back up. I'm not very familiar with bike engines, but this seems like a strange concept to me. I know it's not going to come to the original 160 ever again, but will it come over 110? Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.
