Default Intro and gotta tell the story of how I got my bike!

Well, guys I'm fairly new to the sport bike scene. Picked up my 99 CBR 600 F4 this spring. Bike was pretty tore up, but I couldn't pass up the deal. The guy I got the bike from laid it down last oct/nov. He broke a few things on it, like the bracket for the right foot peg, the right frame slider, wind sheild, right mirror, scraped up the plastics and cracked the rear fairing plastics. The only other bad thing was that the bike wasn't running. He fired it up a few times after laying it down, but then the battery died and he just left it. He needed a vehicle that ran and I have a little 1994 Nissan Pickup that was lowered and primer grey, pretty much everything else was bone stock. We traded straight across. Now, that's not a bad deal on it's own, but when you consider I paid $100 cash and traded about another $600 worth of misc parts out of my garage for the Nissan truck the deal just got a hell of a lot sweeter. So basically I got my bike for $100 and some parts. I spend a few hundred bucks ordering new parts from Honda and Ebay and spend a few hours tearing the carbs of to get them cleaned. Only mods on the bike are a Yoshimura slip on that's been welded, a K&N filter, aftermarket mirrors, metal frame sliders, smoked windscreen, and a temp/clock gauge (he he). Here are a couple pics of the bike as I got it and I'll take some newer ones tomorrow when I get it put back together. I plan to clean up the plastics this winter and paint it Gunmetal Grey and get the rims powder coated a bright blue. Hope it turns out the way I see it in my head - lol.
