Default I need some help with my bike not starting...

I was on my way to work and my bike died out in the fast lane on the freeway. I tried to accelerate and nothing. I pulled over and tried starting and it turns over but, doesn't start up. Almost like if no gas is getting to the carbs. Has anyone had the same problem? Can someone help me out please?

Have you had the chance to trouble shoot it at all? It could be a fuel issue or maybe a spark issue hard to say. More bike history would possibly help.

When you turn the key to on, you should be able to feel (with your hand on the fuel pump) the pump click for a second. Could also be a clogged fuel filter too. Start with the easy things like those before pulling everything off to check the spark.

If this were my bike, I'd start "simple" and work hard.

Pull the gas tank off and spray some ether into carb intake, see if the motor coughs. If it does, then you know you have a fuel delivery issue. I'd then jump the fuel pump with 12 volts to see if the relays gave up and/or your fuel pump quit.

Good luck

Ya, sorry in advance have to ask. Have just seen this thread before and lots of time it ends with... Are you sure you didn't just run out of gas?

Nah I had just filled my tank up the day before so, has plenty of gas. So I just took off the hose going from the fuel pump to the carbs and turned the key and shot some gas out but, when I try starting it, it doesn't shoot any gas out at all. Is that normal?

Does it not turn over, or does the bike not turn on at all? if it doesn't come on at all try looking at your main fuse
