Default head shake under deceleration 65-50

Want to find out from some other guys with f4's, when I go 65 or so, and take both hands off of the bars, and watch the spedo slow to 50, in between these speeds a tank slapper slowly devolopes, does not do this unless both hands are off of the bars and I am sitting straight up, If your curious how I fugured this out, I ride crazy, who knows what I was up to at the time, I just remember feeling it, then thinking how gay it was, then experimented with it a little bit.

I know the little 250 ninja's are natorious for doing this, I have never heard of it from another bike.

Also while under hard acceleration 10-13 grand at about 120-140 mph, in sweaping turns the bike has a snake like action, does not loose traction, and Im a ****ing nut, so I just roll with it, anyone else experience it?

This is the oldest jap sportbike I have ever owned, and have never had these problems with other bikes.

also my temp gauge is for a lack of a better word DUMB. It just doesnt act right, slow down in town and it instantly starts climbing to the top H. But stop at a light and put it in neutral and it instantly goes to normal, then on take off goes right back to H, then after getting to normal riding speeds it goes back to normal??? bike does not run like its overheating

Headshake should not occur but can be caused by bad tire, bent rim, unbalanced tire, improperly aligned front wheel in forks, etc. Temp guage sounds like a bad ground issue.

Not sure if I'm right on this but it could be bad or loose bearings in the steering. I know after enough wheelies on my Buell the bearings loosened up and it would get the shakes at highway speeds. Try tightening the steering bolts up.

I had loose bearings in my steering stem before and when braking there is a slight clunk where the steering stem and bearings move in the headstock and races. Everything you described sounds like a wheel balancing issue, that or a bad front tire but that stares at you in the face. My front tire is bad, and I mean bad...cupping and all and I know my ****'s straight up front except for that(all new bearings, new forks, new rotors, new pads, balanced wheel) and I developed the head shake when I take my hands off the grips, didn't have that problem when my tire was fresh. Check tire pressure and balance to start.

No worries, it's parked for maint, have a new set of PPs on the floor.
