I'm pretty sure it is either glued on there or they used some type of lube to slide it on because those things are tight. When I switched mine out I couldn't get them off so I need up cutting them off lol know that doesn't help u it's what I had to do.

Heating up the grip will make it pliable. Then, remove it. Be forceful but controlled. ;-)

I just did this.. remove bar end... use small reg screwdriver to make a space between clipon/throttle tube and grip.. insert WD40 tube into that space.. spray one quick spray... spin and remove.. . you might need a spray at opposite sides.. 10 min total to do both sides on mine.. clean all of the old glue off with brake cleaner

If you have an air compressor you can use that instead of wd40, both work but the new grips tend to spin if you don't clean the tubes super carefully with thinner, xylene or some other potent solvent. The compressor thing requires a bit of fiddling but it can be done. It's fun to remove grips from a cross bike's bar with the compressor, they go POP and literally fly off.
