Are we confusing the F4 and F4I here? - injected engines require a LOT more pressure than carbs..

I've recently rebuilt the carbs and also had them gone thru by a mechanic. The needles and float valves are new and we checked the height which also looks good. The pump definitely seems to be stuck on. When I called the service desk at a honda dealership here in town they said the pump on the f4 has a switch on the inside which is supposed to shut off the pump when it gets to 6psi but when it goes bad then it basically continues to build pressure until the floats are unable to stop the fuel from entering into the carb and flooding the bike. I've got a new pump on the way and hopefully it will solve the problem.

that contact failing was the reason I replaced my fuel pump as well, only mine would not pump at all.

Easy upgrade to improve reliability of pump is to replace mechanical clicker with solid-state version. Similar to replacing ignition-points with electronic.

Mitsubishi Pump Conversion Kit

Or you can get modern electronic fuel-pump
Installing a Facet solid state electronic fuel pump

Figured I owed yall an update. Turns out my fuel pump was stuck in the on position so anytime the bike was running it continuously pumped fuel until it over powered the floats and flooded the bike. New pump and back to her roaring self. Thanks for all the advice
