Default Fuel Guage Mal-function ?

. I recently recieved in trade a '01 CBR 600 F4I, not knowing anything of the motorcycle except how to ride it, the digital fuel guage does not work properly, But however it does go through its system check when i engage the ignition.....i have a riding partner who has an '03 600 rr with the same guage package and his digital read-out works on the fuel........would it be the fuel sending unit, someone with another F4i please help. All i know is Carberation from a '94 600 F2....it does not have a fuel guage....just a trip meter

The 01 f4i doesn't have a fuel guage. Just a reserve that comes on when your almost outta fuel. If it isn't check to make sure the sending unit is plugged in at the tank. The 600rr has different guages, so if yours are the same, someone probably changed them.
