Fuel guage problems
I've owned my Hurricane about 2 years and have not had issues with the fuel guage accuracy as some have had. But Saturday I was riding it, with about a half a tank of gas, and the fuel guage kept working its way over to the full mark. it acted if there was some kind of excessive electrical current sending it to the full and past full mark. I have never had this problem before and it's always usually been pretty close to accurate.
i wonder if there could be some kind of electrical problem with the charging system causing this. Has anyone else ever experienced this and what are your thoughts?
by the way, I rode it to work this morning and all was well with the guage.

Check the wiring under the tank Ronnie.
Shouldn't be affected by current to or from the battery, and if it was, you'd never start the bike IMO.
If it's the gauge, I can help.........

Thanks Shadow. I will check under the tank. Will that wire cause it to over read?
I just dont want a charging problems to hit me and leave me stranded on the side of the road. Especially on my way to work on 4 lane highways every day. I did check the voltage at the battery and everything seemed ok.

Tell me about it Ronnie , it's where I'm at right now with mine. Hope to have it all good soon enough.

Not sure Ronnie - you could also check the connectors under the right side of the fairing (by the instruments) to see there's no poor connection. There are two plugs there, a red one and a black one.
Check they are tight to rule it out as a problem.

Just an update. Havent pulled the tank to look at the wires. It started back working fine and I had to fill up today. Will monitor as i use up this tank. Weird it acted up previously though and now its working fine!
