Front end repair
Hey guys, just laid the bike down this morning on my way home from working third shift. Big chuck hole in the middle of the road. Anyways, the damage from what I can see and tell is this:
Peg to shifter gone
Front forks /tire/handle bars turned
Front Rotors warped (I think)
Front wheel fender cracked
Left side fairing bolt hole cracked
Left side of windshield bracket bent down
From what I can tell no oil leaked out, the anti-freeze doesn't leak, and the bike runs fine (drove 30 miles home). Does anyone else have any tips on things I should check to make sure nothing is majorly wrong? Also are there any tricks or tips on repairing the front end?
Thanks a lot for any help

RE: Front end repair
that sucks, I assume you didn't get hurt? that must have been one big pot hole to make you wreck...I have hit some pretty big ones before.
I would say the forks are just turned inside the triple tree or at least hope they are, loosen the triple tree up and then straighten the forks and tighten back. the other stuff will just need to be replaced.

No I didn't get hurt luckiy!! My leathers saved my a$$..lol. I have the windshield frame bent back corectly and I just won a new left fairing off eBay that's the same color scheme and everything...only cost $50 and that's including shipping.. Thanks a lot for the advice on the triple. How exactly do I loosen that though? Just the big nut right in the middle of it?? Thanks for the help..

RE: Front end repair
Ok so back to the shifter..I am currently using the old one. I was able to drill a hole through the old peg on the shifter and through the shifter itself. Now I have a bolt holding my peg to the shifter. I'm surprised at how well it looks and works but seems to be great. I was just sure and put a lock-nut on the bolt to the vibrations didn't work it off out on the road. I'll try and post up some pics so everyone can see it.
I also put some JB Weld on the old fairing bolt hole so it will hold up until my eBay gets in.
